The insane thing about it is, coal, oil, and natural gas do no harm to the environment, and they are abundant -- we are not going to run out of them. The left complains about "carbon, carbon, carbon," by which they mean the colorless, odorless gas carbon dioxide, which is absolutely essential for the growth of almost all plant life on this planet, and which is not in any sense poisonous. There is not too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, there is far too little. Our planet is starved for carbon dioxide and has been for thousands of years. As CO2 increases, plant life -- including food crops -- thrive. More CO2 means bigger harvests of food crops, and the so-called "fossil fuels" provide more CO2. There is ZERO evidence that more CO2 is causing an increase in global temperatures -- ZERO.

Don't get confused by the difference between carbon dioxide and pollution -- carbon dioxide is not a pollution. Pollution is caused by poor waste management practices, which happens mostly in the Third World and China. Coal-fired electrical plants in the US produce almost no pollution, because the dust from the burning coal is captured in what are called "stack scrubbers." China and India don't use stack scrubbers, which is why there is so much coal dust in cities in those countries. Western nations all use stack scrubbers, making coal an excellent source of electricity.
