i honestly don't have a clue. It seems like the lines have been drawn for a few years and the gap is only widening.
the ppl that think with logic and rational assume that the emotionally driven, no critical thinking crowd would one day see what their support for insanity has done and "see the light". My fear is that they will never see what their manufactured support has done since they quite literally lack the ability to comprehend.
for example: these ppl think it's undeniable that Russia interfered in 2016 election (even though the Russiagate thing has been debunked multiple times), but you can't question anything about 2020 or you're a Russian agent and now they are even saying how 2024 is already being stolen by conservatives.
not that i believe in the left v right since it's all a bunch of bullshit, but these are the mental pretzels these ppl believe in and they will never debate it, only censor you.

I wouldn't have thought that a few years ago, but I do now - It is mind-boggling. The ones that bother me the most (and I personally know two of them) are people who are intelligent except when it comes to discerning the truth. It scares the crap out of me that they honestly can't see it.
i know the feeling. it's truly unbelievable. and like you said many of them are seemingly "smart or intelligent" but they've been emotionally hijacked or the propaganda has found an exploit in their logic or something.
and even when the truth comes out (mueller report, no evidence of any wrongdoing or racism by trump, confirmation of laptop, literally every biden policy going to shit, etc.) they ignore it or double down.
