“Musk is involved with cartels.”
I’ve never heard this and I’d like some proof.
Not saying you’re wrong, it’s just that you say this like it’s some known, accepted fact.
Also, I believe the money came from Morgan Stanley.
Twitter’s board clearly didn’t care about maximizing profit, and haven’t for a long time (if they ever did). They only sold because they were legally obligated to. That much is clear, they all but said so in their all hands meeting.
Their ad platform is total dogshit. I’ve been working in digital advertising since 2006 and any campaign we’ve ever run on twitter produced exactly dick. I’m at the director level now and would like to think I know the platforms all quite well and I know what I can expect from any of them given any particular ad campaign. Twitter is shit. My boss today mentioned that all their traffic is bots and speculated a lot of the click traffic has been for a long time..which would mean that they’ve also stolen money from their advertisers..we’ve all been watching this thing closely..partly because it’s part of our business, but partly out of genuine interest.
My boss is based, too, FWIW.
I’ve taken a neutral position on all of this until I see what Musk actually does. Boss thinks Elon will open it up to free speech again. Time will tell. I’m not taking any sides on any of this until I see what fruits come of it, if any. I will say that if Musk actually does the things he is saying, it will be a win for our culture and especially those who are for truth.
In any case, I think that the platform could make more money and do it quite well if certain changes are made. From a purely business standpoint, it could be a good purchase and I have to believe that Musk had to have made a quantitative argument to investors to secure such an investment. But again, time will tell. One thing they were doing wrong was to ostracize 60-70% of their potential user base. That’s just bad fucking business. Of course, they did this for ideological reasons and there was probably some state-sponsored and other fuckery mixed in, too.
But my larger point is that if you can more than double the user base in a short amount of time - which they arguably can by simply opening it up to actual free speech - then the “maximizing profits” problem will likely take care of itself. The ad serving side needs some help to further ensure this, but there are plenty of people who could fix that issue.
We’ll see what happens, but I don’t think Musk is stupid enough to make a move like this without a pretty legit plan - at least from a business standpoint.
In any case, I have a hard time believing that he will make the platform worse than it was, regardless of how well he is able to maximize profits on the business side.
And who knows, like someone else postulated, maybe this is a part of a bigger plan involving Trump and some other shit.
In any case, watching these lib fucks REEEEE is entertaining AF and if free speech is actually brought back to the platform, don’t think it won’t have a positive impact on the issues that you care about. Remember, that place IS the town square for normies and it DOES have an affect on things for better or worse. And like it or not, you need normies to be exposed to truth and wake up if you really want to win the day. This could help to do that in a big way. I guess we’ll see. But I’d advise you guys not to be too cynical. I know that’s tough knowing the things you know (or think you know), but it is possible to get so downcast that you aren’t even able to recognize something good when you see it. Hang tight and we’ll see what happens.
I agree. I am not cynical. I view Musk as someone who believes his own bullshit. Mars & Cars, baby. It is as simple as that. There are things I know he won't escape without some heavy pull. The Transportation Safety Board for one. They've been after him for years over the Tesla deaths. The Peta activists coming for him for all of the primates he's flat out killed or maimed for life in his neural link quest. Eventually all of that comes out.
Like I said, I've been watching Musk for awhile. If you go looking you'll find the clues. Like this one: Roberto Escobar, the 72-year-old former accountant for his late brother’s Medellín Cartel, alleged to The Telegraph that an engineer for Musk’s company stole the idea for a flamethrower during a trip to the Escobar compound in 2017. https://nypost.com/2019/10/21/pablo-escobars-brother-plans-to-take-down-elon-musk-over-flamethrower/ That article is 2019 from a visit in 2017. The article states "engineer" and doesn't name Musk directly but its just fronting. That's curious. Why would even an engineer be at the Escobar compound?
Musk has frequently dined with Emma Coronel Aispuro. El Chapo's wife. It is reported in celebrity gossip but stays out of the mainstream. This is well known in hollywood circles.
I think it's interesting that he chose Brownsville since it has a history. https://www.breitbart.com/border/2020/08/26/mexican-army-finds-narco-tunnel-under-texas-border/
Admittedly, there are a hundred tunnels. But moving closer to them drew curiosity. Why not move to Missouri?
All of Musk's dealings with the cartels come out only here and there and you have to be looking for them to see them. It's like they are always hidden in plain sight. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/elon-musks-highflying-2018-what-150000-miles-in-a-private-jet-reveal-about-his-excruciating-year/2019/01/29/83b5604e-20ee-11e9-8b59-0a28f2191131_story.html This references a trip to Mexico and there are tons more. Too many to list. It's all passed off as "Elon is an important guy" and has to travel. Okay, sure. But when an Escobar calls you a liar and a traitor, people need to take a moment and really, really think about that.
There are rumors that wives of drug cartel leaders have sex with Musk and that is part of how/why he gained influence. I could not prove that. That is rumor but it is a well repeated rumor. The affairs may not be ongoing but that rumor started somewhere. And by that I mean, he had to have been in the room with someone at some point for anyone to have even whispered a rumor.
I totally agree about Twitter/Twitter ads/Revenue Streams/Bots. is so shady it seems obvious that he has to be C_A and twitter has to be darpa. Twitter is a weapon. It is specifically used to attack whatever it doesn't like. It has always been that. Does it have potential? Sure but I think it is limited. If I thought this were about free speech I'd leave it alone but I am not so sure. I am not a cynical person but objective, yes. With so much flying around all the time we all have to formulate at least an outline of what may be going on. That's my take on it so far. Twitter may turn out to be something useful. I think the purchase was flat out blackmail. It's why I'd buy it. Especially if it fucked everyone who didn't like me.
I still think the lawsuits are going to catch up, particularly the autopilot failures, especially since the NHTSA has been coming for him for years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_lawsuits_involving_Tesla,_Inc.
All in all I view Musk as the train wreck he is. A smart guy who bought his celebrity at the hands of unethical "journalists" willing to write him in for a fee. He is a great front man. He makes for good fodder. He doesn't have the standing of a Thiel who is perfectly willing to work from the shadows doing the exact same thing in a better suit without the hair implants. He's a master con artist.
Nice comment, “Musk is involved with cartels.” I to wonder where the proof of this statement is too. "He's moved everything to Texas. Closer to the cartels? Maybe." That's BS he moved the Co. to Texas to save millions on tax's.
You can see in my reply above about Musk being linked to cartels. I hear him on leaving the corporate taxes of CA for the no tax in TX but he could have easily packed up and moved shop to SD or Wyoming or better yet Ohio where they actually need jobs because the Obamas/Bushes/Clintons sold their entire state out. Just sayin. He had options.
