Musk borrowed at least half of the money to bankroll this deal. Where did that money come from?

In the past François-Henri Pinault vouched for Musk to banks. And by the past I mean 2018. Most likely through Financière Pinault but I am guessing. He may have vouched personally. What we all NEED to be finding out is who bankrolled this deal? Simple follow the money moment. Because whoever bankrolled or vouched to the banks has a deep controlling interest in this purchase. The shit news constantly makes twitter out to be a million dollar company but it is bleeding money and has no value. So HOW are they getting money? Who bankrolled this purchase?

So far all I have seen is this: On April 20, Musk disclosed that he had secured $46.5 billion in funding, including from Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Barclays, MUFG, Société Générale, Mizuho Bank, and BNP Paribas, for a potential tender offer to acquire the company. The funding included $12.5 billion in loans against Musk's stock in Tesla, and $21 billion in equity financing, such as from selling Tesla shares But people outside of finance don't realize that banks don't just hand out cash because you're a billionaire. It's a popular myth but a total lie. Musk was a billionaire in 2018 and he still had to have someone vouch for his loans. Someone vouched for this loan or loans to buy twitter or someone filtered that money through a bank. Figure out who that is and we figure out why Musk did this.

So far we have two French multinational banks, two Japanese and one is the largest Japanese bank, Barclays, BoA and Morgan Stanley. That's a lot of cash for a company that has no value and is about to be taken private. I'm guessing this is all being lumped together as a private equity fund though I haven't read it described as such. While it is not uncommon for companies to revert from public to private it is a big deal and that is certainly being downplayed.

Tesla's stock sunk by more than $125 billion the next market day, causing Musk to lose around $30 billion of his net worth. This is noteworthy since his loans hinge on his stock. In its annual filing, Tesla had warned that if Musk were forced to sell shares that he had pledged in order to secure personal loan obligations, such sales could cause the stock price to fall, causing banks to demand that Musk sell shares to meet his loan obligations. This will mean he dumps the cars. Keep your eyes on all this. Look for anything that reveals who the actual people are who fronted the cash. Look at the board of directors for each bank, cross reference with what we know. Look for those links. No one spends 44 billion on a worthless company for nothing even if it is a treasure trove of blackmail.

Not saying you’re wrong, it’s just that you say this like it’s some known, accepted fact.

Twitter’s board clearly didn’t care about maximizing profit, and haven’t for a long time (if they ever did). They only sold because they were legally obligated to. That much is clear, they all but said so in their all hands meeting.

Their ad platform is total dogshit. I’ve been working in digital advertising since 2006 and any campaign we’ve ever run on twitter produced exactly dick. I’m at the director level now and would like to think I know the platforms all quite well and I know what I can expect from any of them given any particular ad campaign. Twitter is shit. My boss today mentioned that all their traffic is bots and speculated a lot of the click traffic has been for a long time..which would mean that they’ve also stolen money from their advertisers..we’ve all been watching this thing closely..partly because it’s part of our business, but partly out of genuine interest.

My boss is based, too, FWIW.

I’ve taken a neutral position on all of this until I see what Musk actually does. Boss thinks Elon will open it up to free speech again. Time will tell. I’m not taking any sides on any of this until I see what fruits come of it, if any. I will say that if Musk actually does the things he is saying, it will be a win for our culture and especially those who are for truth.

In any case, I think that the platform could make more money and do it quite well if certain changes are made. From a purely business standpoint, it could be a good purchase and I have to believe that Musk had to have made a quantitative argument to investors to secure such an investment. But again, time will tell. One thing they were doing wrong was to ostracize 60-70% of their potential user base. That’s just bad fucking business. Of course, they did this for ideological reasons and there was probably some state-sponsored and other fuckery mixed in, too.

But my larger point is that if you can more than double the user base in a short amount of time - which they arguably can by simply opening it up to actual free speech - then the “maximizing profits” problem will likely take care of itself. The ad serving side needs some help to further ensure this, but there are plenty of people who could fix that issue.

We’ll see what happens, but I don’t think Musk is stupid enough to make a move like this without a pretty legit plan - at least from a business standpoint.

In any case, I have a hard time believing that he will make the platform worse than it was, regardless of how well he is able to maximize profits on the business side.

And who knows, like someone else postulated, maybe this is a part of a bigger plan involving Trump and some other shit.

In any case, watching these lib fucks REEEEE is entertaining AF and if free speech is actually brought back to the platform, don’t think it won’t have a positive impact on the issues that you care about. Remember, that place IS the town square for normies and it DOES have an affect on things for better or worse. But I’d advise you guys not to be too cynical. You can see in my reply above about Musk being linked to cartels. I hear him on leaving the corporate taxes of CA for the no tax in TX but he could have easily packed up and moved shop to SD or Wyoming or better yet Ohio where they actually need jobs because the Obamas/Bushes/Clintons sold their entire state out. Just sayin. He had options.
