I know a lot about that case. Ted Gunderson, yes, the Ted Gunderson, showed up to defend the WM3 and say the murders were satanic ritual in nature. This has been scrubbed from the internet. Literally. He left CA and moved to Memphis during that trial. He stayed in Memphis and lived not far from where we lived. Maybe ten blocks. He had lived in Memphis in the 70's as a field agent I believe.. He died in Memphis. His doctor told many people that Ted's fingertips turned black, indicating arsenic poisoning. That has been scrubbed as well. The "official report" is cancer. That is a flat out lie. Now, before you roll your eyes, let me state I have LOTS of problems with Gunderson so this is not defense of him, only to point out that it is odd that his involvement was scrubbed. That area is simply too small for rumors not to abound. The thing about the pyramid was that no one wanted it. Not entirely unusual. The locals are of the "ain't broke, don't fix" mindset but they were right about the pyramid. Memphis is obviously dirty, going way back to MLK and the civil suit that the King family brought against the government revealed the government had been in on his murder. So the pyramid comes to Memphis, then the murders, then after the murders the pyramid deals fall apart. It sorta languishes as a money pit and they use it for college sports then it closes and sits empty and then is eventually purchased and turned into a Bass Pro Shop of all things. If anything it is an extremely metro area full of very religious, conservative figures. Then there is the little kid who played with the three murdered and said that the boys had been killed at "the playhouse." When pushed the kid claimed that he had witnessed the murders committed by Satanists who spoke Spanish. Ummm, okay. So this kid gets kicked out of the picture because he does not identify Echols or the other two WM3. You mentioned the stepfather. I don't say this dismissively to you. Everyone gets hung up on the stepfather when they really should be hung up on the fact that Natalie Maines went to such great lengths at the height of her fame, to proclaim Echol's innocence. Really? Why? Why the fuck would a celebrity at the height of her fame climb such a slippery slope and be literally unscathed in the press? Really? Seriously, really? Or they should look closely at Hutcheson. Because everything about her was twisted. And I don't mean she was involved. Only that she was one of the closest links and when everything she said didn't line up with the narrative someone wanted they ignored what she said.
