the thing that I found most astounding is that, I don't think it was much of a fraud. They told everyone who was making them, that it was new, and a new kind of thing, with a different approval time and process, had no warranty and the companies where not liable for anything bad that happens and it was obvious that it would protect you from something that was hardly dangerous to the vast majority of people anyway. And people knowing all those things, still went in droves to go get it on their own. There wasn't much lying involved well yes there was but it should have been obviously a bad idea, the problem was just idiots being obedient.
