My only guess is that Trump thinks that Oz could pick up moderate dem and independent voters in the general as opposed to more conservative candidates.

I'm not an Oz fan.

20-25 years ago people did stupid things for TV ratings. Oz was a nobody until he start spouting the liberal ideology. I think he has evolved, but still, he should not be a politician.
