Couldn't agree more. So much of our govt. is totally corrupt due to whoever funded their campaigns (big corps. or lobbyists) 'owning' the politician once they're in office. The entire system is corrupt from the jump. And it seems the big backers/donors and SuperPACs tend to get behind candidates that they can control or manipulate thru blackmail or intimidation. The whole structure of elections has to be torn down and rebuilt with a much fairer system - on top of requiring photo and signature-matched voter ID's proving citizenship and residence location before anyone can cast their vote, and NO MACHINES involved in tabulating votes whatsoever. As for these all-day speaker events such as the American Freedom Tour shows, they are very expensive to hold and they have to pay for IT services (website, emails, ongoing content changes, etc.), all the speaker fees, travel expenses (which have skyrocketed with oil/gas prices), venue rental, telecom services at the venue, lots of security, dressing rooms, catering, etc. Anyone having access to any of the VIPs also has to get background checks before being allowed near them too (more costs in vetting the attendees). And when you hold an event at a venue that only holds 1,000 or so people (such as these events), there's no way to break even without charging a lot more for 'perks' (extracurricular activities such as roundtables, meet-and-greets, and photo opps) and closer seats. It's just the way it works. I used to organize trade shows, exhibitor events, and TV/film production sets, so I know this first-hand. It's very expensive. Trump holds all these mega expensive rallies all over the country and doesn't even charge his supporters to attend, so it's costing him / his campaign an absolute fortune to do that.
