Brother I can confirm this. I haven't heard a DDG commercial in years. Last week they started popping up on my local radio station along with CDC's push to get the JAB. DDG is done.

DDG HQ is in Isreal. It was never a trusted search engine.
As soon as I heard I immediately switched to BraveSearch. Admitedly its not as robust as others because its still in beta, but is an actual search and not just an aggregator of other engines.
If you search surface DDG versus DDG.onion you will get very different results.
