I'm not sure that's proof of anything? other than research labs exist (which we knew about already). It's true that she wasn't entirely clear about why they were worried, but if it contained something highly dangerous then the US would have either sent in a Seal Team with some boffins on day one to clean/burn it, or dumped last years production of cruise missiles to incinerate it. They 100% would not leave it there for Private Boriski to blunder into while looking for shit to sell back home
And that's before we get to the decision to theoretically place something bad right next to Russia, in a politically volatile country that Russia clearly wants back, and has a build-up of troops on the border (like why, what on earth would be the point?). There are plenty of safe countries to put something dodgy into, and Ukraine is clearly right on the bottom of that list along with Syria and Afghanistan. People have to be able to answer this question, if they can't give a good reason, or even a shitty one, then it didn't happen.
Most importantly, Biden knew about the invasion plan months before he told anyone, and part of military response would be "do we have anything sensitive in that country that we need to move?". So clearly if it was important, it wasn't important enough to move with a few months notice...
So what we do know is it's "research materials that they don't want the Russian to have". It's just unclear why. We know the lab was set up and funded to investigate domestic pathogens like Anthrax in cows and bio terrorism. the only part that would be awkward there is the Russians knowing what the Ukraine know about third party bioterrorism, this could implicate the Russians or some other group. Remember that Biden left behind a list of Afghanis that worked with the Allies, they are all dead now. I'm thinking it's something sensitive in terms of paperwork.
Notice the US response to this, they used the word "absurd", they are clearly super confident that there is nothing in terms of biowarfare research there.

What is extremely unlikely is a bioweapon, because that makes zero sense to have that sitting there for weeks or even be in that country in the first place. This is the key here, the US takes bio safety very seriously, there ars no circumstances under which they would let a functional bio weapon remain inside a conflict zone, they even went to war on the hint that Saddam was planning the same thing.
Tucker made the same video on this last night, he didn't explicitly say he thought there were bioweapons there, but he left the naive viewer to make that connection. This was careful journalism on his part, he didn't lie, but he clearly went for the sensationalist angle rather than sticking to the known facts, which he normally does.
I guess we'll see, whatever Russia says next is likely to be BS anyway because they can see the propaganda is working well over this, they even got China to nod along
In that video of Nuland, she was responding to a question from Marco Rubio. The link I posted didn’t include his question, but if you see the version that does include his question, you’ll notice that he asks her specifically about bio weapons labs in Ukraine.
She could have answered with a flat “no” if these facilities had nothing to do with “weapons”, but that’s not how she answered.
With both his question and her answer taken into context, it seems abundantly clear that whatever was being researched in those labs is dangerous…otherwise, our government wouldn’t be too concerned with whether or not the Russians got a hold of it.
And if it’s dangerous (which again, it clearly is), then it could be considered a “weapon”.
I was agreeing with your position for the most part up until that video dropped. I didn’t have any proof to say one way or another until then. But watching that video, especially with Rubio’s actual question being considered, it’s obvious what’s going on with those labs.
Now, you are making assumptions on some things, such as the idea that “they would put them out in the country side…”
Yeah, one would think.. but again, “acme tractor” etc. they very well may hide that shit in plain sight for all you know.
My point is, neither you or I can make assumptions and treat them as known facts..this is a principle you seemed to properly adhere to, but for some reason departed from when it comes to your assumptions that “they’d never put a lab like that in a city” or “surely they’d sent SEALs in to get them out before…”
I’m just going off of what we know to be factual.
And what’s factual is that woman answered Rubio’s question the way she did, and there are obvious implications from that answer.
What’s factual is what happened in Wuhan and out government’s role in it.
None of this is to say that Russian propaganda and misinformation doesn’t exist, it does.
But so does American propaganda and misinformation.
Point being, it very well may be that the Russians aren’t bullshitting about this. Even a broken clock is right twice a day FFS.
Unfortunately, I can’t honestly say that Putin is necessarily a bigger liar than Biden or anyone in our government..especially after the last 5-6 years, and even more especially after the last two years with all the COVID fuckery.
