I am an isolationist and have been supporting Ron Paul for awhile. We go into countries under the pretext of "helping". It's a lie. We need to get out of every single country, bring our military home and train them as the largest standing army. I think we need to clean up our country, get rid of corruption, get rid of federal programs that drain the economy and are used as a cover to front whatever evil of the moment springs to their whims. People need to be held accountable and the which hunts and twitter must absolutely stop. Every community is different. Every community has different needs. Good public service is all about addressing and delivering. And no more campaign finance. Absolutely none. Not a single dollar for any candidate. Among others but it's a good place to start.

100% - don't get me started on USAid.
Many good points here - and I absolutely agree with you about campaign finance. The corporate and PAC donations need to end, and individual donations need to stay capped. There's NO reason it should cost hundreds of thousands to run for a state seat, millions to run for Congress, and a billion for the Presidency - Unless the goals is to price the BEST candidates out of running - which is EXACTLY what that's about.
Also - I agree with you on Ron Paul - He would do a great job.
Ha. Thanks for replying to this. I typed this in and walked away from the computer and realized that you probably meant realistic expectations. I don't know if these are realistic in terms of starting out. Justin Intolerable brought up a lot of great points and someone brought up term limitations. I'd pretty much vote for anyone, including Spongebob Square pants, if they ran on a platform to enact term limitations.

;-)
This reminds me of another one - not being invested in what they're voting on
