I understand that Putin is potentially fighting DS despite him also being a member of WEF. I hope that he is, but you cannot take away rights for the "greater good". We have a slew of shit laws like that now that only serve to control the common people.
i guess is it a slippery slope argument, why russia outlawing misinfo is bad? Russia is doing the same thing as cancel culture in US, Putin has to fight fire with fire because it's a war which includes information warfare as part of it.

It would be better to globally expose the lies and corruption by showing how " fact-checkers" are biased, controlled and fake, though.
I disagree with that law/bill. Hopefully, they can come up with a version that would only target propagandists vs individuals or independent journalists that arent controlled opposition/ds shills.
That did say "intentionally mislead", but again who determines the truth, not necessarily of Ukraine, but of future stuff?
