I remember the Cuban Missile Crisis, I was a child but I saw my folks throwing canned goods into boxes and a lot of fervent talk about going to the 'mountains,' boy was I freaked.
When your folks freak, you freak, when you're small.

Careful with this website, the government does not release defcon changes to the public, and is only released to those with the appropriate security clearance.
This website has a disclaimer at the bottom:
"The Defcon Level Warning System is a private intelligence gathering informative organization to keep the public updated on current world events, threats and attempts to assess events and threat levels as accurately as possible when deciding what to set the Defcon level alert status to.
This is not the official government alert status, but a community effort to reflect what the defcon level's alert status is, as accurately as possible at any given time through intel sharing and mutual monitoring of U.S. and global events. The official government alert status is not made available to the public right away."
Oh, thank you for pointing that out - I was not aware of that. This is the only website where I've found that type of info and don't know of any others.
So you're saying the American public is not ALLOWED to know what our DefCon threat level is?? That's kinda scary, no? We'd never trust the MSM to ever tell us the truth about anything. So how would any of us know there's a nuclear missile inbound or something? =-O
Not that I think Vlad has ANY intention of nuking America, but you know what I'm saying. Might you know of any military website or DOD page where that type of info and DefCon status level is posted from someone 'in authority' at all?
There is no government website that displays that. It is a matter of national security, and you would need to have a high level of security clearance to be notified. I don't know of any other way of being able to find that out.
Okay, thanks for confirming that. Appreciate being more informed to find out that the public is actually less informed (LOL). Good to know what we don't know though. ;-)
God bless.
I don’t know, I was told he wasn’t going to go into Ukraine, either. I also failed to see what he would gain from nuking the United States, and I do believe he’s in Ukraine for honest reasons, perhaps to protect his own nation, or perhaps the people who think he is dismantling deep state bio labs and other locations could also be correct.
But would I be shocked if he decides to nuke us? Fuck no.
I saw the same DefCom alert early afternoon, east coast time. The website certainly looks legit, but then, doing a little investigating, I read that the general public is not notified of DefCom levels. So, what the hell is this legit-looking website? It looks like Biden is still in Wilmington, DE. https://factba.se/biden/calendar So damn sick of the BS of what and who to believe.
Ditto! I wasn't aware that DefCon Level is "confidential/classified" until today. I can't get over the idea that the American public isn't entitled to KNOW what our risk/threat level is to be able to protect ourselves. But then, nothing shocks me anymore. Everything is so freaking corrupt and wicked and oppressive. :-(
movies getting red dawn now erm replay
I thought we went to 2 for the Gulf War as well. But I could be wrong.
The last time we were at DEFCON 2, was the Cuban Missile Crisis.
I was just quoting the website that said the last time USA was at DefCon 2 was during the Cuban Missile Crisis. I don't know for certain though either - I trusted the content posted there since the "DefCon Level" is the whole point of their website.
The WOPR has at least Pentium 2's by now. We'll be fine.
So if nuclear bombs don't wipe us out the fallout (pun not intended) from the Russian sanctions will wipe us out.
