I hope nobody is under the impression that Trudeau did this voluntarily, or that he wanted to give up his dictatorial powers. He was told by his overlords to do this, because the Canadian banks were undermined by his idiotic abuse of his Emergency power. He can't afford to have confidence in Canadian banks collapse, and he did immense damage to them with his bone-headed abuse of the system.
