there are lots of reasons, the biggest reason is so we can predict what could be coming. Im not talking about the kind of Gain of Function they are doing right now. What the little prick and the CCP are doing right now are the worst kind of technique to do gain of function research. Using crisper to force a virus in to a mutation is not the way to do this and these are not vaccines at all because they are not using an isolated virus to create them rather a computer model of a spike protein to mass produce a therapeutic to poison everyone who takes the jab.

But to your question using gain for function properly and taking all precautions to keeping everyone safe from the experiments then yes, it would be a great way to get ahead of the virus that can kill humans that at the moment humans can not be infected with right now. There are so many viruses that we will not be infected by right now only because they have jumped to our spices YET! and I mean YET because once one of those virus do jump to infect humans we will not have enough time to make a Vaccine, and the problem with making and creating enough vaccine to help does take years and million of people die before we find a vaccine to lesson effects and gain immunity.

So we need it, it needs to be deep under ground or out in a space station, their needs to be this research or we'll all be dead because of a little virus.

Thanks for explaining your thoughts. Helpful to me understanding you. I get it. IMO it's man made viruses that kill millions not the ones that happen naturally so GOF is not necessary. Deal with them as nature dishes them out.

see thats the problem, when the really really bad ones come a long and we know nothing about the really bad ones and how it can effect humans and interact with our tissues we will be years behind the powerball for sure and then we'll all be screwed. I understand how you feel and you know i felt that way a few years ago, i felt that way when i went through NBC school in the military so i do not come to this conclusion lightly, nor do i enjoy the necessity of the science being done. However, i do understand that it needs to be done and when done correctly and safely then I dont see much of a down side.
