Been thinking about becoming a Texan. This makes me think harder. Thanks for posting it.
You might wanna wait until after November to see if Texas can manage to get rid of Gov. Abbott and Atty. General Ken Paxton. If not, Florida (with God-send Gov. DeSantis) may be a better option. Although, my bet is the cabal will move heaven and earth to remove DeSantis by any means necessary.
I can’t wait that long. My older kid starts high school this year and I want to give him four uninterrupted years at one school.
Also, I though Abbott is good. No?
Nooooooooooooooo - Gov. Abbott is Deep State. :-( He's let millions of illegals flood into TX. After 11 months of this insanity, he fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinally sent some National Guard troops down there (purely for optics), but with their hands tied (ridiculous rules of engagement that prevent them from doing jack shit). National Guard is just being an Uber service taking illegals where they want to go. They're not allowed to stop a damn thing.
Gov. Abbott locked down Texans for months in 2020, allowed mask and social distancing mandates everywhere for a very long time, assigned category designations of "essential and non-essential workers", closed down the majority of businesses and went along with all that 25% capacity>>50% capacity>>75% capacity nonsense.
And even once Abbott finally did a couple Executive Orders to stop that bullshit (due to intense public outcry), there were massive loopholes in them (on purpose) that still enabled businesses/companies to 'set their own policy' (which made the EOs meaningless with no teeth at all). Same with the "vax passport" legislation against employers requiring the vax, loopholes big enough to drive a semi truck through in that as well.
