Great to hear you've conquered that horrible journey and arrived where you are now. It's certainly heartbreaking to watch family members self-destruct like that, but at least you're not in the path of their demolitioned building collapse that's coming. You have a totally clear conscience in the whole thing and you tried your guts out to bring them into the light. That's all any of us can do.
Family is supposed to be the most important people in your life. God designed it that way, and for a reason.
"Family" doesn't have to be genetically determined though, thankfully. :-) One can choose who they want to be their "family" (or "tribe").

I guess so. That's why we marry outside our own genetic lineage or we end up with inbred degeneracy.
The world is so messed up that even families are diseased by evil thoughts and acts towards their members. Dishonesty, jealousies, abuse, cheating, incest, etc. creep in and destroy if they're allowed to.
And some people marry or have kids when they shouldn't.
