Awww, I'm so glad you like Gibran, Cynical - He wrote many books but is most known for "The Prophet" https://the-prophet.com/#link21

Given your midnight narrative of yesterday, I can see why you'd appreciate his philosophy. I think you would especially relate to "On Freedom" and "On Crime and Punishment." But, OMW, there is such wisdom in his words.

If you have time, the whole book is worth a read - actually, many reads.. A person could live their life from that book.

FYI: you know the line "ask not what your country can do for you?" - That is Gibran. I couldn't remember the name of the book, and, in looking for it, came across this, which is even better - It has the text of the book, "New Frontier," with some explanation: https://www.hadassahshabnamlal.com/hadassahs-blog/kennedy-stole-gibran-quote-ask-not

I had the same exact thought.

You're as subtle as a hammer.

You're as subtle as a hammer.

Admittedly, subtlety is not one of my finer points - but "as a hammer?" Ouch ;-)

I was being sincere and meant the comparison as a compliment.
