I 100% believe the relationship story is true - it was not written in a derogatory way but in a manner celebrating their relationship - in 2019 - when TGP wasn't nearly what it is now. So, yes, Hoft is gay and married to a much-younger man.
Like you, my jury's out on the Pundit as a whole re: their agenda. Perhaps it's simply sloppy journalism - Perhaps something more. Time will tell.
