I've never heard of Canadian Tire - looks like they're similar to Home Depot or Menards?
Much like Home Depot. They've been around a lot longer. They started out selling cheap tires for cars, competing with Goodyear.

I wondered where the "Tire" thing cane from - looked at their site, and they have a lot more than tires.
At my old hardware store they sold the basecoat and topcoat plaster, and now that they're gone, no one sells it.
