Exactly.

Maybe my cynicism is born of myopia though. The gambit is usually look-at-what-you-see-now-and-just-doubledown-on-it.

We can always expect surprises in the narrative though, a flourish, a distraction, the (occasional) pivot.

But always, always "how could it be worse?"

Because it can always be worse.

You can take that as cynical, or as a certain kind of hopefulness I guess.

I get it. The good news is that it will get to the point that it has no other way to go but "better." Of course, "better" is always a relative term. :-0
