All the gold and jewels on Earth, are not worth, the life behind the eyes, the smile, of a single nameless unborn child. (Do you believe this? A measure of doubt is distance from Him.)

Depends on your religion. Does your god demand it's genitals to be mutilated?

If we didn't wipe out the Aztec Empire, we'd have people demand child sacrifices in the name of their religion. That would make the Abortion debate even more complicated.

That said, I agree. We have to force moral standards on others. It's the fundament of law and culture. I just wanted to point out that some religions are utterly fucked in the head and already get away with too much.

Assuming you are talking about circumcision, no. Just like animal sacrifice, or dietary restrictions, certain ancient traditions are not applicable today.

And yea, I would like my society to follow laws that are founded in my religion where those that disobey face punishment. But I'm only talking about certain basic tenets like thou shalt not do murder and thou shalt not steal. I cant imagine a successful society that doesnt accept these concepts. Dont violate an individual's God given rights is the extent I want my religion pushed on anyone.
