As a "man of science" myself, I don't think I'd ever be tempted to tweet a recommendation against any drug for a pandemic-level disease.
I'd state something like, "We have not seen Ivermectin work for COVID-19 in a Random Control Trial, yet. While we don't endorse Ivermectin for this specific use, we recommend medical professionals use their best judgement and science available when treating their patients - all solutions should be safely considered to save lives."
It's very dangerous and close-minded to recommend against widely used and safe drugs. Granted, people giving themselves diarrhea because they took-horse-level doses is just idiocy. She should have recommended against self-dosing.
