Yea, Where's that fly that landed on Mike Pence's head? There's probably thousands of pathocratic flies in DC now. :)
It's been the same here. Albeit, there's plenty of insects, but not as many as previous summers. So far this summer, it has been a blessing not having the mosquitoes that would force us inside at night. The late cold spring, the recent cold spell, and the lack of rain, may have contributed to the lack of insects, especially mosquitoes. On the other hand, ticks seem to be flourishing. Even with the tick medicine for our dogs, the ticks will hitch a ride and drop off on the floor in the house. I even found a 'crawler'inside my pants. I don't know how a tick got in my pants except I left my pants on the floor the night before. The discovery of it on my thigh was alarming. We always check for them. My kids have discovered ticks on them too. Fortunately, no one has been 'bit' yet. We pulled off dead ticks from the dog that were still attached in the skin. Yea, so there are a lot of ticks that seem to flourish from the cool dry weather we've had.
Very interesting. I wonder if the ticks are not only flousihing die to weather variables but may be losing part of their food source? Or maybe there's a decrease in the number of tick predators?
All I know, is that I feel "weirdness" in the air.
