The PCR test is not for anitbodies. The pcr is for the virus itself. Influenza is not a coronavirus. OC43 is a cold coronavirus and it does not have the genetic sequences tested for in the covid PCR. After they sequenced covid virus they searched for unique sequences in this virus that do not occur in other organisms in the genome database. So you see the PCR test is for a set of unique sequences.
