California just signed into law that ALL homeless in LA Counties Skid Row must be given free housing.. There are over 65,000 homeless in LA County.. How do we afford to house many thousands of people on top of giving a FREE salary via universal basic income? Increased taxes and more regulation on business owners. How else do you pay for this? Ultimately this works out very well for Gavin Newsom and Eric Garcetti as it pushes the wealth all the way up to the top and cripples and dismantles California middle class as well as the entire economy. This will likely end very bad for landlords thanks to SB 1079 with gives the state of CA an insane level of power over properties as well as the first right of refusal to buy all properties with no bid contracts and allows for NO competition from corporations to buy these foreclosed properties. It seems to me that these state owned properties will house the homeless and overtime the state will own the land, own the homes and own the people.. So much for the California dream.. Thanks Gavin

I live in a rural farm area 15 miles outside of a of a small city 50K. We used to have a few mom and pop small hotels 20 years ago that no longer exist but for some unknown reason we have had 7 large chain hotels build within the last few years in a radius of about 5 miles, well over 1,000 beds. These new hotels never have but a few cars in front of them and there is not a large attraction of any kind in the area to warrant their building. There is no way they are making a profit so it is most likely that that they are going to be used to house illegals.

i wonder what kind of catch there is to that.

maybe some kind of social contract? one that if you break you are removed from that housing and prevented from being able to buy or sell maybe? or worse?

where have i heard about these things before...
