He will wait indefinitely. He has no measure of success. The only thing that matters is “it’s still coming”. No end date, no tangible results, people like him will take the most minuscule of accomplishments and hold it up as if it’s a sign that “it’s coming.”
He will literally still be doing this 10 years from now. He knows this. But it’s less painful than admitting he followed something that was a lie. That he put his hope into something that was a lie.
He doesn’t have the courage to face that. So this is what he will do until the end. He will go to his grave thinking it’s still going to happen.
Everyone wonders how those endtimes preachers, especially back in the 20s and 30s, got away with keeping people in their congregation through 20 failed prophecies, kept them in their congregation for decades and decades. It’s because of people like this.
