This is probably remarkably accurate - lol in a good way :-)

I knew a physician who was a horror to nursing staff - just awful to them, yelling etc.

Well, he had a an outpatient that needed some testing done, and I went to his office to do it. His wife was there - and OMW - I was so embarrassed for him - she was being so rude - not screaming, but talking loudly and berating him - it was awful. I thought "no wonder he acts like that at work."

I believe it. I’ve seen a lot of men like that, I have a couple of childhood friends like that. Best friend that I grew up and went in the Navy together right after graduating high school has a wife sort of like that but not quite as bad. She doesn’t get physical or downgrades him, she just does all his talking for him and directs him, tells him what to do like he’s her child. I tried to talk to him about it but it just led to hard feelings with him. If you ask him anything he can’t answer because his wife will, you have to go through her to communicate with him.
