“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness..” These words from the book of Isaiah is exactly what’s going on in America today. The House of Representatives have just passed the “Equality Act” which is a direct attack against Christians everywhere. So, how is the “Equality Act” an attack against Christians? Well the bill that is making it’s way to the Senate will force churches, synagogues, and other places of worship to acknowledge someone’s “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” as “legally protected classifications”. The Equality Act is an attack against our 1st Amendment right to have religious liberty. Let’s put this bill in perspective. Let’s say there’s a biological boy named Jim and Jim wants to now be called Jennifer and use the girls bathroom in Church. Well under the Equality Act, Sunday school teachers or Pastors could be legally liable if they don’t allow him to use the bathroom of his “gender identity”. Church leaders could even face legal trouble if they start to counsel Jim and explain to him his true identity. Now do you see how this is a direct attack against Christians? The Daily Wire covered the dangers of the “Equality Act” and released these details: Religious liberty in America, slowly eroding for years, now faces its greatest threat in a generation. The so-called ‘Equality Act’ threatens the 1st Amendment and freedom of religion on a scale we haven’t seen in decades. It forces churches, synagogues, mosques — and other religious organizations like Christian colleges and universities — to recognize “gender identity” and “sexual orientation” as legally protected classifications despite how those lifestyles might conflict with deeply held religious beliefs. The passage of the Equality Act (H.R.5) by the House of Representatives on February 25th inches the bill closer to becoming law pending Senate approval and the near-certain signature of President Biden. It is the most dangerous piece of legislation in our lifetime concerning religious freedom. The language of the bill passed by the House specifically prohibits the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993 from providing a claim, defense, or basis for challenging the protections granted for “gender identity” or “sexual orientation.” This would deny religious organizations any moral grounds for objecting to the enforcement of these protections and would make those organizations criminally liable if they did. The far-left is calling the Equality Act good and God’s Word evil. As the darkness increases in our land always remember it is written in Revelation Jesus wins in the end!
