Well, the great thing ABOUT music is the fact that its subjective and open to any interpretation. If you dig em that's fine. Not MY cup of tea but that's ok. The thrust of my point is more about the attitude than the actual tunes. I've unfortunately had to live in this NY shithole for 30 plus years. I've been a musician most of my life and spent alot of hard time on that circuit. The sick twisted pride NYers have for these low rent, filthy, dirtbag, underground culture types is positively revolting. I've played CB's. It wasn't some great earth shattering place. Other than the sound system it was a filthy, small, dingy dump filled with the smell of shit, piss, nicotine, body odor and God knows what else and 90% of the clubs in Manhattan were the same. These assholes think that's cool and something to be celebrated and if you look at all the aforementioned bands in my list you'll see they all fit that image to a T. THAT'S what was shoved down people's throats by these NY A&R fucks.
I get that. I'm not really about promoting stanky ass sewer dweller settings either or the aesthetic. I just think the Ramones made fucking awesome songs. :)
