Bet a bowl of haggis all those politicians went to Trump's courses. If Trump let jews, blacks and gay couples into his resorts, he likely let the scots in too.
Agree, but please don't serve me Haggis! I've never had it but the contents aren't exactly on my hit parade. I have seen a can of Haggis before, a Scottish Plant Manager brought a can of it here during a multisite project ... quite a conversation piece ... got a lot of laughs.
Well, you shouldn't have to worry about 'traditional' haggis.
In 1971 it became illegal to import haggis into the USfrom the UK due to a ban on food containing sheep lung, which constitutes 10–15% of the traditional recipe. The ban encompasses all lungs, as fluids such as stomach acid and phlegm may enter the lung during slaughter.
I agree, haggis sounds gross with or without the sheep lung.
The only allure for me would be to experience the "old school" flavors from cooking recipies developed a few hundred years ago.
I've had tripe, once, and that was enough. Never had lung, kidney, most other organs. If they are anything like tripe, I'll pass. Liver and heart is about as far as I've ventured.
I like my beef lips, eyeballs and heart finely ground, seasoned and canned with a SPAM label on it ... that's the limit of my curiosity these days.
Can't be worse than a sheep's eyeball. At least haggis doesn't stare at you when you eat it!
Yeah, I can't say I've seen sheep's eyeballs on the menu, but that doesn't mean they haven't seen me.
