My concern other than it will be a huge Demo addon in Congress (unless HR-1 passes and electoral college is eliminated at which point PR handful of votes won't help undoom the country) .. BUT .. how does the US funding of the welfare island change after statehood? Would statehood really help the sky high poverty and crime? Has there been a strong opinion change in the island's inhabitants to want statehood (less than 50% wanted it when it was pushed during Obummer's reign)? Is the rest of the union taking on all of this debt and forever welfare recipients just so that the Demos can gain millions of loyal voters?
