They want us bonded to their ideals, and not our families. The state has no right to dictate beliefs. Defense and infrastructure is their only purpose.
Correct. Family, marriage between a man and a woman. All of these things designed by God are the primary target of attack by the adversary and his all to willing diabolical minions. Love of God and belief in God is the first target, but this is a very close second.
[They] despise family. Even [they] would never expect to be held to their own ideals. Change is about everyone else. Never ever to be held to the standard imposed on everyone else. [They] have sold [their] very souls.
Those who stand up against this evil, they will be remembered and they will be rewarded by their Father in Heaven for having persevered in spite of the cost.

There is reward in Heaven for Godly life, tho' reward is not the motivator. It certainly is to be a testimony while upon this earth to do good to bring glory to God, so that folks give Him praise and perhaps are inspired by good example and in turn might desire to "get" what we have: relationship with a loving, merciful God. That He recognize us as His children, having surrendered to Him is already a daily blessing.
" We need to work while it is still light, for soon it will be dark when no one can work." This is to give people hope and encouragement, especially now when that which is not good but decidedly evil is running rampant., without any earthly consequence.
We are the counterculture.
One day, to simply hear: 'Well done, good and faithful servant." would be recognition enough.
He see the good you do and encourages you to do more of the same, in His Name. Every day we can't help thank Him for His Mercy.
"Faith without works is dead", but the motivation of works is to give testimony of His influence in our lives, and also testifies that we are salt and light to a perishing world. Not necessary to win or keep salvation, but proof of being His. The child imitates the Father.

Mine stands in front of the tv and yells death threats to trump and trump supporters. Including my own mom.
Lin Wood sounds like someone who came to Faith in Jesus Christ later in life. This is a dramatic change, and if his children were not brought up to be Christians, they will react with hatred toward this family member who has changed and went from being an atheist to suddenly becoming a born-again Christian. It happens all the time. This is quite typical, and it is what Jesus warned.
Jesus: Do you suppose that I came to give peace on earth? I tell you, not at all, but rather division. 52 For from now on five in one house will be divided: three against two, and two against three. 53 Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.” Luke 12: 51-54

His children are not mad at him, they are mad at his FAITH in Jesus Christ!
