They need 51 to vote, 67 to convict. McConnell made sure only 3 GOP showed. McConnell & the senator from Kansas, clearly against impeachment and Romney, for. McConnell isn’t going to do anything to drag it out. He’s denying them their preferred optics. He's cut the # of speeches in 1/2 & I have no doubt he'll speak, powerfully. 2 of 3 He couldn’t stop it but by Republicans not even showing up and denying the dems their preferred optics... McConnell has done everything in his power to de-legitimize the entire process. He's made them look like a kangaroo court, because they are. Even in the history books, in any photo, the chamber will be half empty. The refusal of the GOP to even waste their time showing up will have to be noted in any history book. No Chief Justice. Half the senate absent. It is brilliant. He’s the Leader of the minority He's made them look like asses. And he’s holding them hostage tonight.
