So are we to assume that all but two senators are comped?
That would be my guess - the only 2 Senators who voted against the new Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin were Hawley (MO) and Lee (Utah). There were also 5 who didn't vote (maybe some have "COVID" or were out of town?) - all 5 were "Republicans": Tillis (NC), Burr (NC), Capito (WV), Moran (KS), and Hyde-Smith (MS).
Here's where the Defense Secretary confirmation vote count per Senator is listed: https://www.senate.gov/legislative/LIS/roll_call_lists/roll_call_vote_cfm.cfm?congress=117&session=1&vote=00005
Yes.
To give the appearance of free and fair elections, the "other side" has to get something. So those two traitors drew the "something" straw.
Plausible.
Sounds about right to me.
