That's super as it will prevent the criminals from leaving. Nogales, Arizona is a few hours drive from Tucson. Nogales, Mexico has a dental office with like 30 cabins, high tech digital xrays, and reasonable fees. A few years back walking from Arizona to Mexico, I noticed they had an xray machine that bags had to go through, but no passport/ID checks going into Mexico. A guilty politician, especially a fat one, could simply strap bundles of cash to their body and walk through, then buy clothes and suitcases in Mexico and escape to some non-extradition country.
