The opportunist angle can never be dismissed, but there are other plausible reasons.

Among the most compelling is the later the release is made, the less time the enemy has to react to mitigate damage, and to plan an effective counter.

I doubt CM has his own intel crew, or even a highly effective personal intel network. I think he is being fed info on somebody else’s timetable, and releasing as he can.

OK but how many times is the information going to be released by this method and turn out to be 100% ignored, ineffective, and produce no fruit before we get the idea that people have the attention span of a gnat and this is a terrible idea?

Tell me the last time there was a “bombshell” and it led to executions or even trials or even charges? Hell - even just arrests? Let’s list them.... and.....
