He seems (and indeed claims to be) well-informed, and he frequently uses the 'I know, but don't have permission to tell you' routine. Is this just a Jedi mind game to appear privileged with secret info or is it real? Who knows at this point?

What I do like about him is his calm presence and his persistent warning about the flood of disinformation presently circulating. For a Brit, he seems to understand the American mindset well, and his status as an 'outsider' adds to his mystique. He claims to be a former spook, but he never gives sources for what he says unless he links to some article or video.

So I enjoy his vids, and take what I can from them as food for thought and/or a jumping-off point for further digging. It's a mistake to accept everything he says as gospel.

OK thanks that helps a bit. My head is in the same place. Glad you picked up on his privileged info speak. Very British.

The classic American form of course is "I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you." LQL!

The bulk of my experience with British dialect is from Benny Hill, Monty Python, old movies, and acid trips with Tom Lodge.
