President Donald Trump declined to sign the coronavirus relief and stimulus bill on Saturday evening as he pushed for higher stimulus payments of $2000 rather than $600, meaning millions of Americans would exhaust their unemployment benefits.

Two unemployment benefits programs expired at midnight on Sunday morning, as the Wall Street Journal noted:

Most of us here know what is going on with this bill. Looks like I will need to vette the post headlines here. That headline has precipitated more feedback on this post than the article itself!

When I read the headline I knew the story behind it, and that this situation was not Trump's fault. The Dems dragged their feet forever on this bill, then once they thought Biden won, they quickly assembled the +/-6000 pages of Porkulus with the snickering GOPe and tried to drive it up America's ass. Trump stopped that, and rightfully so, protecting 80% of the funds that would not put America first.
