FROM NEONREVOLT on GAB "Important read:

Sources in the Trump administration confirmed to National File that President Donald Trump’s most vocal advocates within the White House have determined that both U.S. Code and the Constitution contain language that requires Vice President Mike Pence to reject unlawful Electoral College certificates, but Pence must act by no later than Wednesday, December 23."

I call bs. I can cite for you 3 USC ch. 1 sec 15 and 16 which cover the vote count by Congress. 3 USC ch. 1 Secs. 1 thru 21 cover the entire process from start to finish and I know them like the back of my hand. I gaurantee you that The alleged power to reject votes by the President of the Senate does not exist. Congress as a whole does, the President of the Senate does not. The article proffered by "National File" is full of, being kind, misinformation. Sec. 9 and 11 they site for Pence to request the votes are in case the copy of the vote that was supposed to be sent in by the Elector did not arrive. The secretary of state or federal judge from sec. 13 would just be a copy of the vote cast on Dec. 14th at the meeting of Electors. A copy not a different vote because of fraud. In sec 15 and 16 you will see it is both houses of Congress that must agree to reject original votes and accept replacement votes. It is misinformation I guarantee it read the laws.

It is very difficult to counter persistent misinformation like this, even with reference to verifiable facts. At least this one goes away at midnight, but unfortunately and unnecessarily leaving a heap of disappointment behind it. Keep fighting for the truth, tc.

Three days ago I heard about Pence's ability to reject the certifications that were fraudulent, but it didn't seem correct. Yes, it is disappointing that nothing happened, even though I didn't fully believe it would.

This is what Pence will be doing on Jan 6.

President of the Senate is the presiding officer. The President of the Senate shall have power to preserve order. The president of the Senate shall call for objections. Objections have to be resolved for each set of electors before moving to the next.

Correct. He opens the votes from the states alphabetically. He announces the vote. Nothing about him having power to reject votes. I am just trying to get people to not believe false information.

Truth is very important. I didn't down vote you btw.

That must be why we didn't hear anything about this today.

Af least one house member and one senator.

Then houses split up and speakers on the debate get to speak once for 5 minutes and max 2 hour debate then they vote. Dems take Senate seats in GA and its definitly over.
