Perl is weird. I learned it one bored weekend when I was working operations. Did you know it actually does have a style guide? I think I might be the second person to have ever read it.

I did not know that. I think the last time I looked at Perl was probably back in 2006 or so.

I wrote a bunch of Perl back in 2000 when I worked for Apple.

Man that shit was weird.

I’ve never written any Perl. The only Perl software I’ve used directly was a website mirroring program (ia801204.us.archive.org) written by some Swedish guy.

Judging by that code Perl is a lot like Bash but with much more powerful built in regular expressions.
