I've settled on a platformer, (multiplayer ideally that part shouldn't be so difficult while it's not there yet...) mostly because it gives the most rooms for "advertising"/messages/propaganda display... And from a platformer you can easily derive a shooter or beat'em all or what have you https://pic8.co/sh/O5OtCs.png you get the idea

Yes of course now it takes slightly more work regarding graphics/animation and it's more constraining regarding "heads". Those characters above hardly can kick or ddo anything other than jumping/running/climbing and shooting, and a sprite has a limit of 16 color and 32px height/width... So It's actually 2 sprites for the above, the head and the body, and probably a third for the gun/armed arm... And a megadrive is 80 sprites max... And slomo's head under 32px size... It's not going to be shlomo...
