I2P is still young. It will get faster as is matures and more people start using it. There are also a lot of faggots that use the network without sharing much/any of their extra bandwidth. I use I2P almost exclusively for torrents. That being said I just checked and my I2P connection seems to be a little slower than normal. I'm sure the next router update will speed things back up.
