Are you confusing cryptocurrencies with blockchain? While they do go hand in hand, the blockchain is not a currency and P2P networks (not all) are built on the blockchain.
If you're intetested https://web.archive.org/web/20220213164944/https://www.blockchain-council.org/blockchain/blockchain-role-of-p2p-network/
I speak specifically of cryptocurrencies as a means of handling distributed networked applications, like communications protocols.
DLTs have a very specific purpose and are exceptionally good for that purpose. The scope is narrow. Faggots keep trying to use them for everything and it is ridiculous.
The reason is sinister. Blockchains and such idiotic attempts at distributed networks are pushed because they irrevocably tie p2p networks to global economic factors. This puts the fate of the network in the hands of the few elites who control the global banking sector.
Well said. Pardon my previous comment. This comment makes it clear you are not confused between the two.
