You know I thought about that; I could give that a try...I have two versions of FF and a browser that is built on mozilla core. I turned off the automatic updates in my newest ff by adding a key to the win registry. *It affects all versions of mozilla/firefox" browsers.
"your organization has disabled the ability to change some options" shows up in all mozilla related products on my desktop. So that's why I haven't tried profiles yet.
