Now that AMD has surpassed Intel's low effort, shitty, poorly architected, govt backed CPU's--at half the price--Intel is going to have to drop their chip prices to keep up.

Keep in mind, they will still be low effort chips, they'll just be a bit cheaper.

Don't buy into their PR campaigns. We know for a fact that Intel chips are backdoored right off the factory floors.

I'm sure AMD is as well, but at least they know how to architect their chips. They've had to compete against the govt backed Intel, and they've succeeded. AMD knows what they're doing.

Recent AMD chips come with PSP, a separate ARM co-processor that has been criticized as being the -maybe less- evil equivalent of Intel ME. So far, it's been said that PSP doesn't have a network interface, unlike Intel ME which is the worst thing ever.

Still, AMD is probably less threating than Intel and offers better performance as well.

Also, there have been voices asking AMD to opensource PSP and even support coreboot officially. If that ever happened, AMD would be the undisputed choice for anyone privacy-minded.
