Stallman was right. Once you create closed code you create a means for control and nothing more, you create the need for user identification and passwords and tracking, you obliterate privacy, you obliterate free speech, you seed control to the elites completely and in perpetuity.
We are all fixated on the digital carrot but eventually it will become clear that it is just a big orange stick with which we will be beaten.
