Congress refused to hear petitions the easy way.
These American citizens were systematically denied their right to petition their government for redress of grievances. Every member of Congress who left the capitol building and thereby denied the right for the petition to be heard is guilty of deprivation of rights under color of law.
The petitioners did nothing wrong.
