That's reasonable.
It's a good rule of thumb.
Another one is 'shop talk': Anyone thats a capable individual doesn't have a need or desire to "talk shop" with others. They either know their stuff or they don't. If you have a skillset, you shut up, you use it, and you keep others in the dark, not only to protect yourself from illegal harassment, but also to protect others. If you can do something without the aid of others, least of all your 'group' or whatever, then they don't need to know anyway, unless and until they absolutely must. Thats just opsec in the age of spies, infiltrators, and a government waging a blackbag war of censorship/terrorism/suppression/replacement/propaganda against its own citizens.
Anyone that wants to "talk shop" when you meet them is
stupid
there on bad faith
isn't capable on their own
is looking for someone to motivate them
is trying to motivate you.
No one thats capable needs any of these types.
I of course am not speaking of anything illegal in any way shape or form. I'm only talking about legal actions that will nevertheless get you shut down by hostile forces. For example: attending a protest outside DC on january 6th, not entering the building in any way shape or form. Was it legal to be there? Fully. Will it still get you destroyed or even just harassed by the enemy? Yes it will.
And thats how you know you're dealing with enemies.
They don't obey their own laws, and they don't punish those in their ranks who break them.
Hmmm, good point. I should probably be more careful about that kind of thing myself.
The first step to winning is not losing or being taken out of the struggle early.
