I don't think they're just quite emboldened to the point where it's open white-hunting season. The media has a greater role to play in that process. We're getting there, but not quite yet.

They just don't even need any sort of ramp up, they already control literally everything. If they need a certain narrative they'll just invent it, much easier than having any actual patsies or false flags or any of that shit.
