Political theater aside, I will say this: If Jewlinski was serious about trying to save his citizens lives, he wouldn't be so against a ceasefire. It's fairly common practice during wars for a ceasefire to preclude peace talks and negotiations. The fact that he'd rather keep throwing his young men into this meat grinder is very telling. Trump was right to throw him out. He's not serious about peace. Jewlinski just wants the money.

Trump's statement says it well, Zelenskyy wants to negotiate from a place of strength but he isn't willing to concede that without America he is nothing.

The fact that he'd rather keep throwing his young men into this meat grinder is very telling.

And it is disgusting. Trump has the moral high ground here. He has said many times he wants the killing to stop.

They have no respect for Zelenskyy and are over it. You can't blame them.

At this point, the deal is that Ukraine will be divided in two, USSR will get one part, USA the other. Even if Zelensky conceded, I don't think he would be able to live in Ukraine safely after this.

And I would add that perhaps Zelenksy feels entitled towards USA because USA somehow pushed things towards war, even if that was under a different president.
